Debra Kaysen – Bio

Bip Pic

Debra Kaysen is an expert in Data Management and Information Architecture with twenty years of experience at Nike and most recently with Columbia Sportswear. As a data strategist, she has spent enough time with business partners to recognize that technology has built a wall between real people and the data that they create, the data that surrounds them every day.

This blog is all about Data Literacy – getting people comfortable with the data they create and work with – to enable their success in an increasingly digital world. Debra is convinced that data isn’t as daunting as it’s cracked up to be. She aims to prove it using simple, humorous explanations.

Growing up near Portland, Oregon, Debra still lives there with her husband, near her large extended family. She and her husband play tennis several times a week in all seasons. Tennis battles are competitive and grueling; trash-talking is Debra’s strong suit.

Off the court, the Kaysens spend their time traveling, spending time with loved ones and debating how best to save the world.

If dataisfood.com speaks to you, awesome! Feedback, questions and topic suggestions are always welcome, but Debra doesn’t commit to having all the answers (except, perhaps, about saving the world).
